Opana ER is an extended-release form of medicine. It is the branded drug in which Oxymorphone Hydrochloride acts as an active component. This ingredient is also used in Opana drugs. Serious chronic pain can be managed or treated with the help of this medication.

The pain can emerge after an operation and a deep cut wound. The effect of the medicine on the pain takes a long time due to which it is also known as a long-acting pain reliever. Due to this reason, it cannot be used as needed medicine.

It is a round shape, red-colored, and debossed with E and 30 on the alternative sides of the tablet. For pain management, this medicine is taken at regular intervals of time once a day, so it is used as an around-the-clock drug.

The tendency to abuse or misuse is high in this medication, so it is categorized as a controlled substance of Schedule II. It falls under the group of drugs which is known as opioid agonist painkiller.

Endo Pharmaceutical has manufactured this medicine. Opana ER has been reformulated quite often, however, a tendency of drug abuse cannot be prevented. So, it has been withdrawn from the U.S. market.

How Does Opana ER 30 mg Medication Work?

Opana pill consists of oxymorphone HCl which is categorized as an opioid agonist. It has a high tendency to bond with the mu-opioid receptor in the central nervous system of the brain and spinal cord.
